The Key Clubhouse of South Florida, Inc
CEO
The Key Clubhouse of South Florida is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Miami, Florida, whose mission is “to afford people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness the opportunity to recover meaningful and productive lives through self-directed reintegration into the workplace and the community.”
Founded in 2008 by a grassroots group of family members of young adult children living with serious mental illness, The Key Clubhouse opened its first South Florida Clubhouse in 2010. In the intervening years it has grown dramatically, now serving an active membership of one hundred seventy adults in its 5,000 sq. ft. facility in the Northside neighborhood of Miami. The Clubhouse is located on the bottom floor of a supportive housing complex where forty-seven members live in subsidized apartments. In July 2024, Key Clubhouse of South Florida opened a second Clubhouse in the West Kendall area of Miami. Since 2010, The Key Clubhouse has served nearly 1,000 individuals living with serious mental illness.
CEO Position Summary
The CEO has the overall strategic and operational responsibility for executing The Key Clubhouse’s mission. The CEO serves as the public face of The Key Clubhouse and ensures that the Clubhouse follows the Clubhouse program with fidelity to its thirty-seven standards. The standards ensure that all members have the opportunity to participate in wide variety of skills-building and social activities, and have equal access to employment placement through the Clubhouse’s transitional, supported and independent employment services.
The CEO leads and manages a staff team and ensures that the organization’s fiscal, fundraising, marketing, employment, professional development and technology strategies are effectively implemented. The CEO also serves as the primary liaison with the Board of Directors and is responsible for keeping the Board up to date on the status of the organization and for advising Board members on preferred strategies and resolutions.
The CEO is the key spokesperson for the organization and maintains the organization’s positive public image. It is therefore critical that the CEO cultivate and maintain strong relationships and a positive personal reputation with individuals, organizations, stakeholders and community partners.
Responsibilities
Strategic Vision and Leadership
- Delivers executive leadership and management, serving as the primary liaison with the Board of Directors to refine and implement the strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff and priorities are aligned with The Key Clubhouse’s core mission
- Establishes effective decision-making processes that enable The Key Clubhouse to achieve its long- and short-term goals and objectives
Board of Directors Liaison
- Cultivates a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensures open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic and impact performance against stated milestones and goals
- In partnership with the Board, helps build a diverse and inclusive board that is representative of the community served by The Key Clubhouse
- Seeks and builds board involvement with strategic direction for on-going operations; serves as ex-officio member of all Board committees
- Keeps the Board informed of the impact to the organization of legislative, regulatory, or judicial policies
Strengthening Operations and Internal Community
- Develops, implements, and manages effective and innovative programming that follows the thirty-seven standards of the Clubhouse model
- Promotes a healthy and effective rehabilitative clubhouse culture and community through wellness programming and trauma informed policies
- Provides oversight on all Clubhouse programs and evaluates regularly for effectiveness and improved where necessary to meet accreditation standards
- Maintains compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, and with all state and county contracts and other grants
- Ensures the Clubhouse is evaluated regularly for effectiveness and improved where necessary
- Oversees the financial status of the organization including developing long and short-range financial plans, monitoring the budget, and ensuring sound financial controls are in place; sets financial priorities accurately to ensure the organization is operating in a manner that supports the needs of the program and staff
- Creates and promotes a positive work environment and provides encouraging and motivational leadership and direction to Key Clubhouse staff and members
- Attracts, develops and supports high-performing program staff
- Creates an effective team culture that utilizes shared decision-making among members
- Ensures that all staff have the training, resources and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
Fundraising and Marketing
- Develops sustainable fundraising, governmental and other external partnerships that promote the mission
- Drives development and fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Board
- Implements comprehensive marketing and branding strategies to ensure consistency throughout the organization and enhance revenue from major donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies
Essential Experience, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong commitment to The Key Clubhouse’s mission, vision and core values, including the program’s shared decision-making model
- At least five years of Executive Leadership experienced with a track record of effectively leading performance- and outcomes-based programs and teams
- Experience in serving populations with serious mental illness
- Experience working with and developing Boards of Directors
- Fundraising and marketing/branding experience, including knowledge of social media and internet marketing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with outstanding presentation abilities and the experience and appetite to be an outgoing spokesperson for the organization while building relationships to augment fundraising opportunities
- Successful track record in recruiting and retaining culturally diverse, high-quality staff
- Excellent skills in building strong relationships with external stakeholders, including funders, to promote the organization’s mission and growth
- Ability to effectively handle mental health crises in a supportive and professional way based on training and standard accepted practice
- Flexibility and willingness work on nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary and Benefits
$105,000-$115,000, commensurate with experience, with full coverage of health insurance

ORA Clubhouse
Clubhouse Generalist (PT)
Job title: Clubhouse Generalist - Part Time
Reports to: Ora Clubhouse Executive Director
Purpose
This position is responsible for working in partnership with the Clubhouse Executive Director, other Clubhouse Staff, and Clubhouse Members to achieve the goals of the Clubhouse community. As a member of the Clubhouse team, this position will assist the members in determining and achieving personal recovery goals.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned
This position requires adopting and promoting the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs model of recovery. The position will engage and assist the members to make changes that will empower them to successfully participate in the community with minimal negative impact from their mental health challenges. Prepared for unit assignment in support of Clubhouse needs.
A. Participate and support for the overall organization of the Culinary Unit, which includes assisting members in menu planning, recipe development, food/supply ordering, meal preparation, program budgeting, cash and deposit handling, expense reporting, program development, developing and maintaining community partnerships, clean up and organization of work environment, filing, data collection, and other office related needs. Provide education and mentoring in the learning of job tasks, managing stress, and assessment of job skills to assist members in maximizing their potential.
B. Participate in and support the Employment and Operations Unit. Tasks may include: assisting members in developing an employment plan, drafting a cover letter and resume, mounting an effective job search and learning to interview effectively. After a member has obtained employment, provide timely and flexible supports, on the job site or in the Clubhouse, to help him or her maintain the job. Document activities, goals other contract deliverables achieved by the employment team and provide to managing entity and Board upon request.
C. Participate in other Generalist duties of the Clubhouse including, but not limited to, wellness initiatives, tours, orientation, community/social media outreach, and social programming. Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, in-services and external trainings.
Work Ordered Day
Assist to ensure that the work of the Clubhouse is generated by the Clubhouse in the operation and enhancement of the Clubhouse community. Encourage members to participate in the full work ordered day. Please note that in this position you do not complete the task for the member but work in partnership to complete the tasks of the units.
Assist with data collection and information technology management efforts
As requested, obtain financial and Clubhouse related data. Organize the information using Microsoft Office, Excel, and multiple technological systems to ensure data can be retrieved in a timely manner. Assist in organizing physical and electronic Clubhouse records. All of these tasks should be completed with the assistance of member(s).
Assist with Transitional Employment Placement (TEP) opportunities for members
Provide opportunities for TEP regardless of success or failure in previous placements. Provide assistance to members through vocational support. Assist the Director to ensure that the Clubhouse enables members to obtain or return to paid work through transitional, supported, and independent employment.
Computer/Typing Skills
Must be familiar with Microsoft/Apple environment.

Work Schedule
Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
The work schedule requires flexibility to meet the needs of the Clubhouse Community. The normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. Additional work hours will be assigned when Clubhouse activities occur on evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Clubhouse International Standards require Clubhouses be open on all national holidays.
Qualifications
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have an understanding and commitment to the Clubhouse International Model of psychiatric rehabilitation and the underlying values and principles.
- Must have the ability to assess and/or support members and families in crisis.
- Experience in the not-for-profit and/or human service program coordination preferred.
Education and/or Experience
- At least 1-2 years of experience with people living with mental illness (any combination of work, volunteer, or lived experience accepted).
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and psychosocial reports.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or colleagues, staff, members, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute ratio, rate and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Experience with Microsoft software and ability to utilize a computer to track member participation.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, think critically, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to receive constructive feedback on job performance and adjust requests as deemed necessary.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- Certifications as required by the current Funding Agency and DCF (see below for list)
- Valid Florida Driver's License/acceptable driving record
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate by facilitating meetings and engaging in active listening with members. The employee is frequently required to stand in a kitchen and walk around to complete tasks. The employee is occasionally asked to lift and/or move up to 30lbs.

Wages
$18.53/hour, paid bi-weekly, with direct deposit available. Part time 30 hours a week non-exempt position.
